Dec 17: More normal

This was my first attempt at getting a classic rangefinder after my Oly Trip's meter went AWOL. A Yashica Electro 35 GTN. Aperture priority auto with an electronic shutter... very cutting edge at the time it came out in 1966. They sold millions of the things. Its lens is a 45mm f1.7. Great angle of view and very fast. Perfect. But I don't use this camera very much. Why? Well, it's Bigger than my Pentax MX. As big as my DSLR in fact. Both of which do more, but don't give me that rangefinder buzz. So it sits on the shelf and the little Oly 35 RC that I bought a bit later gets the glory. Oh, but that lens is so good!!

other sizes: small medium original auto

You must have quite the collection of old and new cameras. I like the umbrella reflection also. Do I see an eyeball reflected in the lens?

I start thinking I may be finally learning about lenses and exposures and all the technical bits and then I find I really don't know much at all! At least I'm learning the terms and this sentence reads like this:

Aperture priority auto with an electronic shutter... very cutting edge at the time it came out in 1966.

Instead of:

Blah blah auto with an electronic blah... very cutting edge at the time it came out in 1966.

Awesome!! Is this going to turn into a series about your cameras? YAY! I think it's fascinating the way you present and tell about them.
