I don't know exaclty when this picture was taken. Sometime around 1980. I remember taking it. It's in the dining room at the 'old' house. I had a Chinon CS SLR camera with an Ozawa 70-150f3.8 zoom. The film was Ilford FP4, probably developed in ID11. My sister had given my grandmother a makeover, and I was taking some 'nice' photographs.

I've left the edge perforations on the scan as I think it illustrates an important point. This was an out take. I never printed this photograph. But here it is. I never throw negs away. Ever. This picture is nearly 25 years old and I've never seen it properly before. I found the negs for the whole shoot. They're in perfect condition. I don't know what'll happen to my digital files over the next 25 years. I'm sure that many will be lost due to data corruption or hardware failures. Many have already been deleted. The 'digital is free' idea not only allows us to take more photographs. It also lessens their value. These negs will be carefully stored away and, fire floods and removals men permitting, with be just as good in another 25 years.

It's good to see these people again.
