dream?

I had a dream. I asked the equipment drawer which camera I should use:

"Equipment drawer, equipment drawer, over there by the door, show me the camera that I should use more"

The drawer slowly opened, and from within, two hands rose up, and revealed to me my old Pentax MX...

Bu**er. I thought. I has hoping there might be a Rolleiflex in there!

Update: As Jeanne says, I should have held the Pentax so it was more recognisable. And I should have taken the time to focus it better. And to be really picky, the hand is almost blowing out. Maybe a 1/3 stop less exposure?

Fantastic. Absolutely brilliant, DM, the toning REALLY REALLY makes this that much more incredible. Excellent PS work!

This is so well done, David. Gee, my photo equipment drawer doesn't have hands ... cool!

Killer tones, really gets the wood out there. Grain looks pretty sharp too.

You're right about the highlights, you can see it on the drawer too. Maybe try tilting the dresser so it's a little more parallel to the sun coming in through the window?

Very musty feel to this one; pity you didn't have an old Retina or something in there. So this has got something to do with tennis and elephants? I give up.

OK. I LOVE this image. You don't really even need the dialogue (although I like your poem) the image already tells it for you. The toning choice gives it an old feel, the only thing I MIGHT have done differently is to allow the viewer to see the type of camera, b/c they would recognize that Pentax in a second, (if they were into photography anyway) The cool thing is is that is is cleary a new photo taken with a digital camera and manipulated in PS (OR you have a strange thing in your sock drawer) but it looks and feels like it could have been taken 50 years ago! AWESEOM DM!!!

Apart from the funny dialogue, i like the tones in this b&w.. detailed yet soft. I know this is a private joke cuz.. well.. I play tennis different?
