Sep 29: Play

You might notice that this picture shows a similar theme to yesterday's. The dogs playing 'out for a walk tennis.' Here's how it works: JD drops the ball in our path then shuffles backwards a suitable distance as we approach. Lola will assume a position four steps further back, both waiting, ever hopefully for someone to give the ball a good kick. This almost always happens, of course. A chase then ensues. If Lola gets the ball, she'll then canter around a bit with JD in pursuit. Eventually she'll drop it and JD will carefully set the ball up for the next round. This they repeat until we're back home. It's clearly just the best game ever!

Great shot, by the way.

A friend of mine has border collie and she plays this same game. Always brings a ball, sneaks up and drops it at your feet, then retreats to wait for the throw... Seems to be all-consuming...
