If you look SSW around dusk this week, the two 'stars' you'll see are the planets Venus and Jupiter. Venus is the brighter and just 96 million miles away. Jupiter is 533 million miles away, so I set the focus at inf. Figured that would cover it. The cabbage palm in the foreground is only 15 feet away. Pleased with myself, I set out to see Uranus (no tittering) and Neptune. These are much harder to find at 1.8 and 2.8 billion miles and not visible to the naked eye. Uranus was an unimpressive spec (I said no tittering) through my little telescope, and Neptune only just visible at all. Still, saw them both. I've already seen Saturn, so just Mercury and Mars to go...
