Bee problem?

This cluster of bees has appeared during the bad weather we've had over the last couple of days. They don't seem dead... some are moving, and the 'pile of bees' was bigger earlier today. Earlier, they occupied the dry area you can see here. Are they starving? Just keeping warm and dry waiting for sunshine??

Did you do any research, DM? What did you find out? I've heard of bees grouping at the entrance and buzzing their wings to cool the hive, but that, and honey, are about the limit of my knowledge. Maybe Cathi could do a 'dance' and talk to them...

Oh dear, I hope they will be OK, perhaps they're just being British & queueing to get in....?!
