Joseph Mitchell Oliver

Joseph Mitchell Oliver, son of C.H. and Sadie Oliver, reared in infancy
in the Michell home. It is said that when he was 2 or 3 years old his
mother couldn't find him and alerted family and neighbors and a group of
Gypsies camping in the nearby "Pine Thickett", screaming that he had fallen
in the well. A couple of Gypsy men went down into the well but it turned
out that the child had been safely sleeping under the bed where he'd fallen
during his noon nap. In this picture he is age 4 and it was made in 1912.
