I just got bad news today from his mom that Kent has cancer and they can't do surgery because it's in his Kidney, pretty much he has stage four and will make up his mind if he wants to do chemo or not. Please say prayers because he is suffering, they just put him on morphine for the pain.

I was with Kent for years from 75-79 and on again for a short time to have our son Wade who was born in '81. This had to be in '77 after his father passed away, when he chopped all his hair off. We lived at 1313 OFW and Horizon before the Sidewalk Cafe was even there. That apt. was a hangout for all the friends to smoke a joint and have a beer without being hassled by the cops. On weekends we hated the crowds on the walk so we'd sit at the window and heckle people. All we could do was get high to handle the noise level of the piano man and juglers and the freaks below our window. I hated the weekends there because of that. We later moved to 415 Rialto and a couple more addresses on that same street, it was quieter away from the Boardwalk, but a longer walk to the Breakwater and Pavillion. I'm surprised I'm not in some more of these photos because I was always around the guys. (I'm in only one). Picture Man had tons of pics of the girls too. We used to have slide shows with the locals. It was fun.
Doug Smith, John Hands, Pat Sleeper etc. were regulars there. & they sure made my life interesting!
