Talk about localism. The biggest crunch was getting a window table at Lafayette's when it opened at 8:00 am Saturday morning, especially the coveted 2 person window table in the front which actually faced the ocean!!!!I'm sure there were people in Venice who hated us, not for our relationship,but because were always there first, waiting for that table!

my dad started working at the sidewalk cafe this year . I think it was the year it opened.
Lafayettes was the spot with any traffic back then huh? or the deli owned by the 2 old dudes from new york by rose and Susans kitchen. those last three spots were classic Venice for me were they around before you karra ?

Man I miss those days when the boardwalk was practically empty and the only vendors, if ever, were the super random hippies with some super homemade little stuff.
