Matsushima Shrine

Matsushima Bay is a famous coastal "resort" near Sendai. It has tourboats that visit the Matsu (Pine) islands...I think there are some 200 of them. Small dots of islands that have twisted Pine trees that are really beautiful. But another reason to go there is a sacred grove with ancient burial sites and fantastic Buddhist statues dotting the burial site. Thank you, Masashi, for taking me to this deeply spiritual place!
