Kiyomizu Tower

Kiyomizu-dera, Kyoto, Japan view map

Kiyomizu-dera was originally built in 778 where it marked a clear fount of water...however all buildings (they are rebuilt) date from 1633. The Otowa waterfall "cures" any illness and you can bless your marriage at the Okinushi-no-mikoto statue. The veranda platform behind the main hall is where sacred dances were performed in olden times. ..These pictures were taken at night...and it was the highlight of our trek in Kyoto. .184.jpg
