"Up She Goes"
This bascule bridge spans the Ashtabula River a short distance upstream from the harbor.
An increasingly rare sight, a sign here says this is the only highway bridge of this type
still in operation in Ohio. (Quite a few bascule railroad bridges are still around though).
Depending on river traffic, it raises and lowers as often as every half hour.
