Thunder Butte (Wakinyan Paha), a remote & prominent butte landmark is located at the northern side of the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation.
It is imposing rising above the prairie.
Even though not as tall as Bear Butte, Thunder Butte is also important to cultural and religious Lakota tradition, with a rich history.
