The kind of scene that a photographer stumbles upon and immediately finds himself / herself reaching for the camera. Would have been a crime not to shoot

The top real windows bend and curve so differently than their shadow/light peers.. the shadow looks like it's falling off the face of the earth. Was the lookout post for watching out for dangerous things?
