Fantastic use of the effect - particularly because it's not an image where the idea seems "obvious" (there is no strong light source here, just a reflection in the speaker centre).
And the allusion to sound waves is very cool!

FANTASTIC!!!

That's truly wild. Sound made visible. This should be an album cover, or an add for some high end music-related gear. Better than Memorex.

Dom, I set up my telephoto on a tripod focussing on the speaker at 100mm. I exposed for 3 seconds and compensated for overexposure by using a big f-stop number. Then, during the exposure I zoomed in and out in one smooth motion, finishing back on 100m before the shutter closed. I shot it in RAW to give me the chance to play with the exposure more.

OK, come on, let me into the secret, how have you done this - promise not to rip it off!! Truely a great photo, it's like an album cover waiting to be discovered.

Will say again.. this has an aquatic feel to it.. the "sound wave" appears to be ripples in the water.. and the grommet off ot the right in the darkish triangle looks like the head of a fish with an eye...

I wonder what music sounds like underwater?

You always amaze Niall. You have found a way to photograph sound. I can feel the base.

My friend, this ROCKS. Pure and simple.
