Showmen's Rest

On June 22, 1918 the Hagenback-Wallace circus train was struck from behind enroute
to a performance in Hammond, Indiana, killing 86 performers and roustabouts.
The Showmen's League of America established Showmen's Rest at Woodlawn Cemetery
in Forest Park, IL where many of the victims have been interred.
These photographs were made during a memorial service coinciding with the
8th Annual Chicago Area Celebration of International Clown Week.
