Eloy Schermann just read this. What memories it brings back. The many card games we played with my Grandpa Schermann [ joes dad ] in that house. I helped dig the basement with horses and helped hand mix the cement and hauled stones to fill in the forms so it didn't take so much cement. If anyone wants to contact me my email is below.

According to Eloy Schermann this was the John Schermann house... John Schermann is a brother of Joseph Schermann

Well its been many years since i was in the little town that brings back many memories in my life. I have visited it a few times in the past and boy has it been a long time. I was born in Wilkie and raised part of my younger life back in 1952. I am very happy someone still has the kindness to keep this little place still going. I just came back from a trip with my wife and had to show her where i lived the start of my life. I am amazed at the buildings that have been restored and still left standing. The one picture that bings back my childhood was this picture and many other. This picture bring back lot of memories. This house reminds me of my grampa and gramma Schermann which were pasted on before i was born. I live in a small house to the east of it and that was the house of Helen and Joesph Schermann my perants. Then to the east of that at the corner was the hotel. To the north was my godfathers little shoemaker shop and in it was a little bowling alley. Then farther north was the Co-op store were my dad worked. Then come the Convent and yes the church where i was baptized This site bring back lot to me and to this day i still call it home Thanks to the ones that keeping the history THANK YOU Cyril Schermann

Another nice old house complete with lighting rods, I remember when every one was installing them on their homes.
