- 8th April 2005 - Jenoptik!

This is Christopher handing over his hard won cash (£99.99) for a new camera.
He's off to Amsterdam for a horticultural field trip this month, and
wanted to record events (suspect I'll not get to see all the pictures!).

We settled on a Jenoptik 'cheapy', 4MP and 3x optical zoom for £99.99, as he's
pretty tough on cameras and it takes SD cards so I can lend him one.
Says he might do a photo a week! Like how he's surrounded by 'film' as he buys!

It's cold and wild today here, with sun and snow both putting in an appearance.
So quick walk back to the car, but time to set you the following challenge...

Snapped some buildings at the Cross and in Lower Bridge Street. You'll see from the blue plaque
that the King's Head was rebuilt in 16-something or other!

Don't know if I like all the modern signs or not...
However it's Tudor House and the Bear and Billet that is the challenge - I don't think
they've been straight since the 17th Century.... can't see PS managing it now!

We also had a nice cup of tea in St John's Church (right on the cross). It's a haven
of peace in the City centre, with some powerful coloured windows. I noticed on the
list of rectors that it goes back to 907! Enough of the history, time for gym and
then off to band rehearsals.

There's a programme on UK TV asking for people to nominate buildings to demolish.
Look at this garage next to the St Olav's Church.... think it should get a vote!!

Very nice shot Ian. The colour of the film packets and the concentration on their faces is excellent.

Nice set of pictures Ian. I've only been to Chester once, also went to the zoo. There's something about film...I want to buy it...don't know why, it's illogical!

Good set of pictures Ian, nice comment about the amount of film still in Jessops!

Had sun, snow and rain here as well today. Like the photos of the buildings - perhaps we could start a "find the oldest building" for a PAD idea!

He will have a pretty good time on that trip I think :-)

Good shot Ian, we didn't have any now but it was damn cold.

following in your footsteps :-)
I started snapping with a jenoptik, it was only a cheapy 2MP one...

Yeah, I like seeing the town pics too.
Have you seen the Crooked House over near Dudley?
Its a pub so I'm sure they wouldn't be thrilled with having it demo'd.

It's about time they got rid of the dome. Nice set of pictures too!
