- 29th March 2005 - Bigger

Not so much the token, but I have to admit the US Aircraft Carriers are considerably bigger than the UK versions! During my stay in Rosyth we had the great pleasure of hosting members of the US Carrier Programme. This (I'm told) is one of many used as a drinking game token - any US pbasers played?

The other side:

It's 23.15h and I was getting very worried about getting the PaD. Tried to capture it spinning but failed, so this is as good as it gets :)

Well executed shot Ian. It's amazing what a bit of panic can bring out !

Such coins are used as semi-official tokens of appreciation and good will. To receive one of a high honour indeed!

Coins of this nature usually aren't part of a drink challenge; they are ornamental and commemorative. Coins associated with a specific organization that are given to members of that organization and they are obligated to have the coins with them at all times, especially when in a NCO/O club. If a coin holder produces his coin and smacks it down on the bar, all other coin holders present must produce their coin or they must buy a round of drinks for everyone. If all persons present do indeed have their coins, the challenger must buy a round of drinks.

Good image Ian, a lot of effort well rewarded.
Great lighting, focus and I really like the composition with the token to the right.
