- 25th Feb 2005 - Chlorine

Some towers at the ex-ICI Runcorn site. I used to run a chlorine plant many years
ago, but don't know what part of the process this is!

Snapped it on the way back from Liverpool. Starting to like Liverpool - it's up there
on the job location stakes. Had useful meeting with an Exec recruitment person today.

On the way back took some shots along the West side of the City along the Mersey.
This is still to be developed, unlike the South and East (all the way to the airport where
Linda A stayed the other night). The tank/steps shot is one for Sylvia V!

Business Opportunity?: Mixed Styles: Danger:
This is the 'Ferry Cross the Mersey!':
No escape: Industry: Bend:
Comfy:

This afternoon met Christopher and his tutor at College (mmmm!), and Christopher snapped
this car on the way back. I've removed the 2 numbers to protect the innocent, but would
like to know what Jude was doing in Cheshire without mentioning it!

Striking image with the repeating patterns, lovely sky color and small details in the ladders.

Great shot - can remember passing this place a few times, photographing it never occured to me! Mind you that was before the days of PAD...

Neat industrial shot. Love the composition and as someone mentioned, the yellow stairs.

Interesting patterns in all your shots here. But like Cliff suggests: Perhaps time to smell the flowers (or nature)? ;)

Can't stop singing the song now...thanks Ian :>)
Like the look of all your shots of ageing industry areas.
Cliff26-Feb-2005 05:54
Yes very gritty industrial Ian. I think I'll mail you a flower LOL :o)

You've really caught the pattern of these well.

Very interesting industrial-reminds me a bit of pipe organs. Nicely captured against the gradiant skies, Ian. And like very much the Liverpool shots, too.

As someone who lived in Manchester for 3 years and has just moved to London, let me just repeat those immortal words "ee gum but 'tis GRIM up North!" : ) Nice shot, BTW.

Great collection of interesting pics - but the pad shot has got thet bit more - the cloud is quite nice and really works witht he industrial towers.

There are definitely some great pics to be had in Liverpool, I haven't been for a while. I like your collection here.
Guest 25-Feb-2005 21:48
Nicely captured rhytm on a very mundane subject.. Well done!
Bill Miller25-Feb-2005 21:06
Great strong image, and what a contrast to the Victorian brick buildings in the other images...
