- 25th Jan 2005 - Burns Night!

OK - I make no pretence at 'art' tonight...

I was dined out tonight by a colleague, as
it's my last full week in Scotland... finishing on Thursday.
(Although I've agreed to go back for 2 days in Feb).

Being Burns Night he'd booked ahead to ensure a table.

We arrived to an empty room..... 'we have haggis on the menu
every night' was the response....

So we had a quiet but very pleasant meal - Steak and Haggis :)
Same make as 'Stu' took to Portugal! And a good chat about the
future... job hunting and all that.

Got caught photographing the cheese and biscuits (most
entertaining thing the waitress had seen for some time...)

Oh and Barry asked me to mention it was his idea that I use the
empty room as the PAD - thanks Barry.

HMS Illustrious arrives at the yard tomorrow, so I'm hoping for
some good shots of the arrival..... weather permitting.

Ian that decor unmistakeably says Scotland to me. I'm sure the first place I had haggis (in Pitlochry) had the same carpet :O) Despite no people the colour cast makes the shot a bit more warm and welcoming.

Glad you had a good night! I've never tried haggis myself.

Hehe, hope it was good all the same!!! Most folk usually celebrate it at the weekends, there were many on Friday and Saturday past there are also a few this weekend, I am off to one on Friday night, so hopefully I'll enjoy that one, hope you liked the Haggis too, I love haggis, the place that makes that Haggis you had tonight is based in Morningside in Edinburgh, I might use it as a PaD one day... =o)

For some reason I thought it was on Friday... not that I'd trust anything going through my head right now. Surprised to see the place empty!
