I thought i'd upload a shot of Mary on this the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The Immaculate Conception refers to the fact that Blessed Mary was born without Original Sin in order that she would be a fitting mother for Jesus. As the temple that housed Jesus prior to His birth she had to be spotless and devoid of sin. Because she always did God's will she committed no sins and God, through a special grace, allowed her to be born without Original Sin. It's fairly common for people to think that the Immaculate Conception refers to Jesus's conception but that is a mistake.
