I like how this photo is stripped down to the bare essentials... the woman, the fruit, the knife and the backdrop. Pure and clean and gorgeous.

Striking image. I like the size and the position of the sculpture, with its disinterested look and 'arm' location, if annoyed by the vendor's close presence. My first attraction to this shot was however the wonderful colours. The green and yellow of the bananas in harmony with the lady's dress and her deep mahogany skin colour, shown lightly on the grey wall. Beautiful shot Monique.

An expressive study in color -- if she was not wearing green and yellow, it would not work. This image tells us that she is what she sells and she sells what she is. Conceptually, it reminds me of a picture I made in Burma of a watermelon vendor:http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/40174229 Color congruities and incongruities are essential in mine as well as yours.
