An image such as this evokes strong feelings because of the incongruity and the mood. However if you had backed off a bit, and kept more of the dark environment in the picture, making the subject smaller, and used a horizontal frame with the figure placed off to the side, you might have been able to add a context of overwhelming loneliness to the task.
