Ground Zero Photos

No one expected the evil-doers would blowup the Lake Erie levee. Damn Them!

After the inital shock, I grabbed my camera and jumped on my air-mattress and navigated around Greater Cleveland.

Women and children...tumors...Patti Smith...what visions and emotions your pictures elicit. I'm quite fond of the W. 14th St. sign and Saint Theo. Awesome! Once I have the proper walls to display them as they deserve to be (back in Tremont soon) I will have to commission you to print them up for me. That rhymed. By the way, where are the rest of the Lotery League pics?!

Great work! And I love the comments from the people who think that these are pictures of a real flood. I have to wonder if they think that you really used a piece of gutter, and paddled around on an air mattress all day long to get these pics! Good think your camera and computer were not lost in the flood :b

After this last week, I can say with absolute certainty, that I feel quite irrigated. In fact the water table is approaching the dinner table. If in the near future, I feel an irrepressible urge to make ice cubes, it is a sure thing that there will be plenty of water for that purpose. The grass was drowned in its sleep and won't be taunting the mower any time soon. And precipitation in liquid form does not require shovel duty...your photos are brillant.

I kind of stumbled upon your site...and oh my Godess, am I ever amazed!! You photos are just gorgeous. The flood pix are so cool! And refreshing for me, as I am originally from Cleveland and now live in Phoenix, I find myself missing Cleveland, the lake, and everything your pix capture (right down to the small-street neighborhood shots...I spent my childhood on E. 70th & St. Clair, so I luv to revisit the small streets & houses in photos).
And the Gehry building in "the flood"...wow. Just wow.
Great great work...now the problem is choosing which pix I'd want the most...I luv them all!

ps: I haven't thoroughly gone thru all the site, but I do hope you have pix up of the Cleveland Agora (once legendary for turning out huge names in rock like Patti Smith, etc.) and some of the gorgeous old churches (I went to St. Vitus as a girl...)

What a pain this flood was ... gunwale to gunwale boat traffic on the Shoreway, Lindale cops on jet skis. If only the "Free" stamp had floated away.

excuse me,but I don`t know,is this a really flood (incredible images) or a digital work.If it is really then it was a big disaster and if it is a PS-work then it is very excellent.

I remember this horrible time. Fish everywhere, but too full of tumors to eat. The best part was the fresh clean feeling after the water subsided. For once, the city was united in struggle against the rising tide: one Cleveland, one city, one nation, under water.
