May Day! May Day!

While out hiking I came across the wreckage of this Beechcraft. It looked like it had been there for a while, though there is still ash on the ground at the point of impact. The nose of the plane and cockpit are just small fragments and ash. You can see where the small plane took off the tops of the trees before it slammed into the hillside. The wings, one fuel tank, tail section along with the engine are still in pretty large pieces.It looks like fire destroyed much of the plane and its contents, all that is left are the metal frames of the seats. My guess is the crash happened during winter as there no signs of burn on the surrounding trees or rock. This is a heavy snow area which probably contained the fire to the plane. When I returned home I searched the web for crashes in the Truckee airport area. I found nothing...
