Restaurant le Gambetta

I was put in charge of finding a good restaurant for our last night in France, as we were leaving for London the following day.
After referring to Tripadvisor, I noticed that Restaurant le Gambetta was rated #1 of 31 restaurants, with a Michelin Star, in Saumur (Loire Valley).
The concierge in our hotel booked the reservation for us and we feasted on one of the best and most memorable meals of our lives!
Because we ordered a la carte, we ended up spending much more money than had we ordered from the most expensive "menu".
Dinner and kir for 2 with 1 bottle of Saumur-Champigny wine was a wee bit expensive....

That was a little over my guestimate for the meal cost but what a memory. Rather like the line in the movie, "I'll have what she's having."
It must have been fun to see the other people eating there too.
