Mr. Emu

Some of you Pbasers may recall this story:
In March, 2009, Mr. Emu broke free of his fenced-in field and found his way to our home.
Not knowing how to handle an emu, I was successful in getting him to follow me up the street as if I were the pied piper.
Then the fun began with a dog / emu fight........ Fortunately the emu was able to outrun the golden retriever.
Finally I got the emu into his fenced-in field (after wrapping my arms around his body near the neck & walking him forward).
Gosh I wish that I had my camera on me that day!
All's well that ends well!

Is he a pet? I thought they could be aggressive?
However, he is handsome and he obviously thinks you are special! :))

Very nice Emu portrait, they one strong bird.
We had one running loose at our place a few years ago
and the lady Ranger had to tackle it and bring it to the
ground so they could get it back to the owners.
