Pillared

If I remember correctly, I shot this image to show how this pillar has curved over time.
Many thanks to John Reynolds for telling me that the cathedral's pillars are buckling due to weight!
Update: my hubby just reminded me that the marble columns buckled after the steeple was added.

A great viewpoint. There does seem to be a slight curve in the pillars. The pillars beneath the central tower are known to be buckling under the weight of the masonry above. Maybe that is what we are seeing here.
