Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Depot at Milan, Illinois,
...Continued from previous Photo.
In late 1917 The Milan Depot caught fire and was rebuilt to the original plans. It is unknown at this time when the last passenger train left its platform, but a guess would be before the line between Preemption and Milan was abandoned (17 miles) in December of 1952. The Depot stayed in the possession of the Rock Island Line until March 1980 when it went belly up. After that it changed private owners a couple of times before becoming a Coffee shop in Late 2004. This little Depot has managed to outlive its original owners and its original purpose, it now holds its Ground and serves the Finest Espresso Around.
