Hi Ross/Rosco : saw the ferry storm photos a while back. On the snowmobile site. Read about the stolen issues, too bad. Then the forum changed and took a while to register and find them again. Very cool. I just showed them to my 81 yr old mom who loves wild weather and weather in general. Thanks very much. Brogan

Ross; The ferry photos during the windstorm are very exceptional. Great job! I used to ride the Klickatat and others on the San Juan run when I was 5-6 years of age. My father was a "steam engineer" on the boats (San Mateo, Chippewa, and later Klickatat (no longer using steam of course..), but as often as I used to ride the boats I have never seen anything like you captured in the wind storm. Great shots Ross. I so wanted to be down there or in Edmonds during the storm but I had to work...I'm sorry so many people are stealing, using, and taking credit for your photos. My cousin Mike K. and I were talking about it today. Keep up the great work, I have you in my favorites and like checking on your latest images.

Dear Ross, absolutly incredible photos. I am a SKYWARN SPOTTER with the National Weather Service(NWS),If you have more storm photos the NWS would love to see them along with this sequence and may want to use them in various products that they distribute they wont pay for them but will give proper credit to the photograper who takes the pictures. Also anyone else that may read this post the NWS would love to see your pictures that you may have taken during the wind storm of 10/18/07 and any future Severe Weather Events. Here in Western Washington you can send your Severe weather photos to ted.buehner@noaa.gov By providing photographs to the NWS you not only help to varify Watches,Warnings & Advisories but they also help varify radar and satilite imagry from the ground. Also your Photos help in issuing the pre mentioned NWS products. So if you want good exposure send all WESTERN WASHINGTON storm photos to ted.buehner@noaa.gov

I love your photos and bought several 5x7's earlier this year when I was in Everett visiting my daughter who is a very good friend of Izzy's and who sent me your photo gallery. These are all awesome pictures!! I especially like the pictures of the Ferries in the storm - scarey but what a ride that must have been!! Rose

WOW. I wish i had been on that ferry! i usually go accross on thursday, but was home sick. it would have been a memorable ride. i appolligice, i send them to my son in Colorado springs, he also said it would have been a great ride. thanks kirsten

I was on one of these ferry's on Oct 18 with another mom and about 5 busloads of middle school kids to and from a cross country meet in Langley. It was quite a wild ride on the way back (not to mention loud)!

Two friends from Washington sent us the unauthorized pictures, and I'm sorry to say I forwarded them to a couple other friends. One of those friends asked me who took them because she wanted to get prints. I was trying to trace the email back to its origins when I saw the article in the Mukilteo Beacon. I sent her the url for your website, so she may order from you. Amazing shots, by the way. I rode that ferry often when we lived there, but never experienced a ride like that.

Hey Ross, Right Place - Right Time - and Prepared for anything...would be my caption for these as a collection. I searched all over for your site after getting a viral email. Then folks wanted the best copy possible for framing. Finally, I found these on this site: "Seattlest Reasons 1-9 Why Not to Ride the Ferry in a Storm." There are many things I want to say, but looks like tons of folks beat me to it...these are fantastic. Hopefully U have not had too much damage done to your business with these being posted and "stolen". I am glad you got around to copyright-ing them. How do I go about purchasing one or two for framing? I am from Whidbey - these will have a nice home in my hall-way. Thanks again, Cheers to you! ~S~

Spectacular photos--thanks for setting up your site. I found them via the link on Crosscut.com. One of my favorite shots--and definately my favorite caption--is almost at the end of the slideshow, about #67, I think. It's another ferry in wild waters shot, but with the caption, "free carwash." :~) Thanks again.

Hi Ross, I found your site from my sister..She posted your pictures on her blog. That was one huge windstorm and I have been on a ferry (Port Townsend/Keystone)when a wave like that hit the ferry and stalled it! Dang! What a ride! Great photos! p.s. The only way I can read your site is to highlight the words.

The Mukilteo Ferry pictures are spectular. I sure am glad I was not on that boat but what a ride and the pictures sure tell the story of the weather at that minute or so. Nancy Hovik Marysville WA
