Well Solfest just gets better & better. The main stage and second “Drystone” stage were both larger than last year although the latter is still very small & quaint. The Dance Tent was much as it was in 2005 but there was also the addition of a Chill Out Tent and Disco du Fromage & the Bedlam Boudoir were moved to nearby so that most of the late night revelry circulated around this general area. There was also an additional stage in the bar area with performances scheduled in between those on the main stage.
There was more in the way of food stalls which is definitely an improvement over last year and plenty of clothing and craft stalls for those requiring retail therapy. There were also more toilets although again the Gents urinals weren’t clearly marked as such and we could have maybe done with some in the campsites. Rubbish bins were scarce but the site remained clean. Plenty for the kids to do too with activities & workshops throughout the weekend.
There was the usual smattering of roving entertainers and stilt walkers but in addition the Saturday night was a Pirates & Fairies themed fancy dress party and a large proportion of the punters got involved by dressing up although some stretched the theme a little bit :o).
Headline performances on the main stage were provided by Bellowhead, The Wonderstuff & The Proclaimers but with lesser acts also appearing later into the night. Highlights in the dance tent included Dreadzone & Eat Static although I’m afraid I was dancing my nuts off toward the back of the tent for both of these performances so no photos of these although I did catch Eat Static’s chill out set the previous evening & have some photos from this, one of which I’m particularly pleased with. Enjoy.
Great photo's, wish I'd taken some but I was very busy enjoying the very best festival in the north, if not the country, if not the world. xxx

Nice pictures of the dance tent and chill out, glad someone took some. The dance tent was, different this year it was a bigger tent, had it's own bar, it had three times as much decor than last year and much bigger acts. To say it was much the same as it was in 2005 could be taken as an insult after a lot of extra work had been put into it. Glad to read you were dancing in it though.
