I’m a prodigious wanderer at Glastonbury and the predominantly firm conditions underfoot made it so much easier to get about and therefore see far more in the way of live acts than I am able to in the more muddy years. There was also more in the way of live entertainment on Wednesday & Thursday than has been the case previously with The Queens Head, Club Dada, The Bandstand and several of the Greenfield and Dance Area stages all hosting performances before the start of the festival proper.
I’m especially pleased with several of the portraits I have of some of the artists this year but where I haven’t been able to get close enough for decent photography I hope that I have at least been able to give some idea of the atmosphere. I even managed to break a 9 year hiatus of watching a Pyramid Stage headliner with Blur’s phenomenal closing set on Sunday night. I think only Madness’ performance is missing from this record of the onstage action I saw this year…
I just came across these - no-one usually takes such excellent photos of us (though friends do their best) - that's speaking as a gig photographer myself...only I can't play and take pix at the same time!
