Having come across the southern tip of the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge, I read up on it and then drove to its' headquarters and public entryway in Ridgefield, WA. There are dozens of species of birds that spend time in the wetlands here through the course of the year. Summer is not the best time, but still, there are ducks, geese, heron, egrets and others to be spotted. On this visit, I drove a 4.5-mile loop through part of the refuge.
I should say that almost all of these pictures were taken with extreme telephoto equipment and manually focused, so some softness is evident -- sorry!
