I live in a region (the Pacific Northwest near Portland, Oregon) with the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Columbia River running through it, and the Cascade Mountain Range which runs from Canada through Washington into Oregon (broken up by the Columbia River). Within a day's drive from my home is Mount Hood, Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams -- all volcanoes, although Mount St. Helens is the only active one.
This year I began returning to the Mount St. Helens area and the Mount Hood area to capture the dynamics of the changing seasons. Mount Rainier has so far been safe from my roaming lenses, but not for long!
