Distant bobcats!! I had trudged into the Toppenish National Wildlife Refuge, which is beside the highway connecting the Columbia River basin with Yakima. I saw what from a considerable distance looked like prairie dogs, had only my 5D with the lens of the day (hand-held shots), the 70-200, took a few quick shots, and walked away, wishing I had at least brought my tripod. It wasn't until I got home and looked at the pics, that I realized I had photographed my first bobcats, but with a "short" lens! Dang!
