I next came upon some mallard ducks and a large brood of ducklings that were bunched together right at the edge of the shore. Close up, the brood is quite a sight! In time, though, probably because I was sitting a little bit away taking as many close-up pictures as I could, they swam off. Meanwhile, the geese were nearby being vigilant...
