Construction in Progress

Berlin, Germany

Berlin at present is obscured by construction sites i.e. a new underground station and line under the famous boulevard "Unter den Linden",
reconstruction of the Berlin City Palace, renovation work at the State Opera House, and many more.

Germany's "National Bird" "the Crane" (;-)) is present everywhere and a challenge for tourists and photographers.

What a great and honest image of the "national bird" and the construction happening all around the grand older buildings. A beautifully artistic picture and I agree, the eye is still led to the superb Dom. v

Great photograph Tom with this perspective and excellent processing work. Without the well known old landmarks Berlin would probably be difficult to recognize. "V"

Nice opportunity to use "palimpsest,"something reused or altered but still bearing visible traces of its earlier form.
"Berlin is a palimpsest of the taste of successive builders. "

Chris Morton25-Aug-2014 07:56
amazing how this baroque building stands up against the construction clutter (with a little help from the photographer!) - it will no doubt shrug off its modern neighbours in the same way
Martin Lamoon25-Aug-2014 07:14
Good to see money is being spent, hope the results are going to be in keeping with the old buildings.
