My Favorite Flight Attendant ... Berlin Tempelhof 1971

Germany

... also my bride of some 30+ years ... This was the Pan AM Internal German Service (IGS) precipitated by the partitioning of Berlin after WWII. After the wall went up in 1961, the only way into Berlin was by rail or by air. The only three airlines allowed to fly into West Berlin during those days were Pan AM, British Air and Air France. In those days, Lufthansa could not service Berlin. For air crews, it was an ideal assignment as flights couldn't start before 6am and all flights had to be on the ground by 10 pm

Hello Captain Briggs,
Do you know how many IGS pilots have married German stewardesses during their assignment?
I remember Bennett, Kiehl, Brown, Knepper.

She is a lovely lady and great to see PA and the 727's. Was in Tempelhof in 1986.

What Ken Had said is right, and a wonderful aircraft, which now is only used for cargo. Wonderful shot. Congratulations on 30+ years. V

this shot perfectly captures an era gone by; the beautiful stewardess, pan am, and the adventure and elegance of air travel.

You've been a lucky guy eh? Nice shot.

She's a cutie! This shot sure takes me back to when flight attendants (stewardesses at the time) were so strictly regulated for height, weight, good looks, and PSA had those very short hot pink and orange uniforms! Things have really changed.
