This is William J. Bratton, currently the Police Commissioner, New York City

In 1966-67, Bratton was assigned to the 212th Military Police Company in Vietnam. After leaving the service, he began his law enforcement career in Boston, rising rapidly to the top spot.

His career saw him as the Boston Police Commissioner, New York City Police Commissioner, Los Angeles Police Commissioner and, once again,NYPD Commissioner. For a full biography on his meteoric career, go to: http://www.lapdonline.org/lapd_command_staff/comm_bio_view/7574

Amazing how old adages often ring true: "Birds of a feather, flock together".
Bratton was my Chief when I was a newly appointed Transit Police officer in NYC around 1968, after a stint in Vietnam. Forty-seven years later he has come full circle and back in the Big Apple, and the 2nd time as police commissioner. He is doing a good job, I think. I am just glad to be here to think that he is.

I salute the Chief for his time in Uniform and the Vietnam war. He is a good example of the value of Veterans in the civilian work force. I was in the Vietnam war all of 1969 dwn in the land of Wet the Mekong Delta 1969.

Wow! What a long and impressive career. Thanks for your years of service Chief. There is no telling what the Chief might have accomplished if he had started out with the 188th MP Co, 92 MP Bn.

Very impressive. We were privileged to serve with many exceptional people. Like us, for instance. Best regards (and vote).
