A Trip To La Gomera Island, Canarias, Spain, April 16th 2007

It's 237 pictures alltogether, chosen from about 700 we took that day. We used two cameras: Nikon D70 and Nikon P4. The P4 was used mostly while on car as it has stabilised lens which helped the pictures quite a lot. After the trip I thought the small P4 is just a 'better camera' which is... not true. A good stabilised lens for my D70 will make it more than fine. On to the trip. We set off from San Sebastian and looped the island on 4x4 Land Rover Defenders which had open roofs. This was fantastic as we could easily take pictures and make movies all around us, and there was a lot to record, to be sure! We passed villages burried in mountain ranges, visited an abandoned bananeria i.e. bananas plantation, had a lunch in a very nice Las Rosas restaurant located on top of a mountain over a gorge with Tenerife's El Teide volcano on the horizon, we crossed Parque de Garajonay National Park and entered a museum there, walked in a forest of laurel and heather trees, seen many eroded volcanoes, took a breathtaking road journey from Gomera's cold mountain tops to the hot San Sebastian, spent some time in the town and came back to Tenerife by ferry. Quite a lot to do in one day.

Great gallery, I've just got back from another trip to Tenerife and still haven't made the journey to La Gomera, looking at your pics I wish I had.
