This is the 12th of 15 sequential images of an occultation of Saturn by the Moon on Sep 10, 2001. In an occultation one object passes in front of the other, obscuring the farther object of the nearer object covers a greater angle. Here we see Saturn is a little over half way out from behind the Moon. Since the Moon light is not washing out Saturn so badly, a bit more detail can be seen in the planet.
