It is a well known fact that potatoes only exist in one of three states: "baked", "fried" and "mashed."
Fresh and frozen are "transitional" and short-lived states that only exist in the laboratory under special conditions.
These potatoes were photographed in just such a transitional state.
There aren't many tell-tale signs as to the state they're transitioning too,
but I have it on good scientific authority that these potatoes are in the process of transitioning to the "mashed" state.
This transition is expected to take place tomorrow evening but that, too, will be short lived.
Shortly afterwards I understand they will completely disappear!
