This is known locally as "The Bakersfield Sign." It's a replica, albeit smaller, of the original Bakersfield sign that bridged
across Union Avenue, the main road into town for many years. Union Avenue is a six lane road that was the main business
district untill the freeway was built and skirted around the outside of town. The sign was finally torn down a few years back
because of safety concerns. California is an earthquake state, afterall.

An old employer asked me to take a few shots of the sign to use in a promotional gift they're doing. I think this one turned out best.
