The 2007 edition of the Steep Hill Chase took place June 9 at 9am. It was our best yet. 200 competitors challenged the hill and won. We raised over $2,500 for Special Olympics. Steve Laurie took the Gold Medal in the men's division in a course record 15:41 and Liz Wilson flew down from Seattle to defend as Women's champ in 18:21. Master's winners from last year repeated as Trisha Kluge, 20:26 and Thomas Kreutzpeintner, 16:54 grabbed Gold Medals. Teva Shoe Company provided great CDs for all entrants and 10 pairs of shoes for great prizes. Rogue Brewery's local pub, Eugene City Brewery offered pint glasses and free beverages to all participants. Kudos to them and all the other sponsors to make it a terrific event.
