Van Gogh Sunflower Festival ~ Hood River, Oregon D70

This afternoon we took a quick trip to Hood River, Oregon to visit Rasmussen Farms, celebrating 20 different kinds of sunflowers. Almost like the south of France (Oregon Style!) It was the perfect opportunity to take photos and enjoy the vibrant colors of summer

Many of the flowers in these photos were backlit by the sun, thus the very bright colors.

I am not a professional photographer but I had to comment and say these wonderful photographs brightened my day and made me genuinely happy. Here in Alaska, summer comes late and is much valued and these shots remind me of those lovely 6 weeks up here. :-D
