Saw my first one last evening while walking the gravel road. About 10 inches long, charcoal black, red ring, pinkish orange underside. We are in north central Idaho.
Have not found any info on them being in this area. Wife wanted to kill it, but I said no way (we have rattlers around) and let it race of to the blackberries.

I just found a baby ring neck snake in my basement. The amazing thing is, it has two heads! I thought it was really cool.

In the past two weeks, I have found what I believe to be two baby ring-neck snakes in our dryer! Unfortunately, they are dead. I thought the first one was one of my kids' toys! Im wondering if they can get through to the dryer from the vent. It's vented under our porch. Ever heard of such a thing?

Workers just tore out the remainder of my old wall and found one of these living inside the column at the end. Exactly the same snake description. Small and quick and tried unsuccessfully to bite one of the guys. He put the snake in the bushes.

I just found one in our basement 10-12 long 1/4 inch diameter would there be more than one and would it be odd to find one this time of year?
