Hi - I'm writing a blog about Vermont living and need a photo of the little brown orange-belly snakes I used to find. I was wondering if you might give me permission to use your photo. thanks!

June 24 2012, Winsted, CT. Walked right infront of one of these guys today while walking in an overgrown field. Then came on the computer to find the picture and the first one I click, a woman commented on seeing one in Winsted two years ago... irony!

June 19, 2010 Winsted, CT (northwest corner of CT). I found this baby brown (like light latte color)snake with bright orange belly running across my yard. Picked him up and moved in to a field.

This is also a Red-bellied Snake. They come in 2 color phases, gray and brown. I found both of these color phase snakes under the same rock, curled up together.

Is this also a red-bellied snake? Very different from the previous one.
