Gray Catbird - Dumetella carolinensis

Ipswich, Ma.

This catbird should have flown south for the winter and is now in the middle of an arctic blast of sub zero (f) temperatures that have been here a week and are predicted for the next couple weeks. It's feeding on sumac seeds and other berries in the area.

It looks a bit chilled Tom. We are stuck in the same cold system.

Hope it survives. Does this species "meoow" like a cat? Our catbird (not related, I think) does.
