Day 9: We left Gosainkund very early in the morning under sub-zero temperatures. Walking in the shadow for the first 30 minutes, it was only -5 degrees. The sun broke through afterwards just before we crossed the highest point of the trek - Laurebina La (4610m). Along the way we saw the half frozen Ganesh Kund and Surya Kund. We descended to Ghopte (3430m) for lunch and stayed overnight at Tharepati (3510m).
